What should you set up first in a horse yard management app?
Start with the yard, the people who need access, the horses and one daily routine. Check access with a colleague before expanding into additional records and tools.
Your first useful workflow
- Create your yard. Use an account you control and keep recovery details current.
- Add the pilot horses. Enter only the records needed for the first routine and check spelling and identification.
- Invite the team. Each person uses their own account. Confirm the correct yard is visible.
- Assign three real tasks. Add a responsible person and an appropriate due time to each.
- Complete and review. Ask a colleague to complete a task and confirm the update is visible to the team.
- Hand over the remaining work. Record what is outstanding, who will do it and when it is due.
Before adding more features
- Can everyone find today’s plan?
- Does each outstanding task have an owner?
- Can a colleague see the latest completion?
- Do people know how to escalate urgent concerns?
- Have you checked which records each person can access?
Try Pocket Yard before committing
The public sample yard uses fictional records and needs no account. Your own yard needs sign-up. The current trial is one calendar month without a card; it does not automatically become paid membership. Paid membership is £39.99 per yard per year and renews automatically until cancelled.
Connectivity and tracking
Shared updates require an internet connection. Browser ride tracking may be interrupted when the screen locks or the device restricts background activity. Review those limits before relying on a device.
