One clear record for the next person
A daily yard checklist helps a team see what was done, what remains and who is responsible. Use this sheet alongside the yard's agreed horse-care plans. Adapt the headings to your routine; this is an organisation tool, not a set of feeding or treatment instructions.

Make the checklist useful every day
Start with one shared master record. A tick with no date or name is hard to interpret later, so record those alongside the task. If a task cannot be completed, leave it open and explain the next action rather than treating a note as completion.
Keep observations separate from decisions: write what you saw and who you contacted, then record any instructions with their source. Review missed tasks and repeated shortages with the team so tomorrow's plan addresses them.
At handover, read the open items together. For example, “Morgan: confirm the bedding delivery time before the afternoon order” gives a person a clear next action. Avoid copying private horse or owner details into public groups.
