Make the task specific
Name the horse or yard area, describe the agreed action and include the due date or shift. “Morning jobs” is difficult to check. A specific task lets the next person see whether the agreed work is complete.
Assign one responsible person
A team may help with a task, but one named person should own its status. If the assignment changes, update the shared record and tell the incoming person directly.
Record completion when the work is done
Keep planned tasks distinct from completed work. Record exceptions and follow-up actions rather than marking a task complete to clear the list.
Review the day at handover
- Which tasks are still due?
- Who is responsible for each one?
- Has anything changed since the morning plan?
- Does an urgent issue need a direct call?
Keep private owner information and professional care instructions in appropriate protected records. A task list helps coordinate work; it does not replace professional advice or emergency communication.
